1200 WATT MICROWAVE
|
| Review Date: March 31, 2010 |
| Reviewer: Eyesk, from the swamps of Jersey |
Currently this Amazon page is lacking in some details about this unit, most notably that it is a 1200 WATT unit, not 1100 WATTs like most 1.4 cu.ft. units. So that's pretty sweet, right?
Other specs from other sources:
The Oster digital microwave oven has 1200 watts of total cooking power and 10 variable power levels for customized cooking. The digital microwave oven even comes with a programmable child lock that prevents unsupervised use.
* 10 variable power levels for customized cooking
* 9 convenient cooking functions for easy, one touch cooking
* Programmable child lock prevents unsupervised operation
* 1200 watts
* Model OGG61403
Note that this model does not have a "sensor" feature like some more expensive models have. Nevertheless, this is actually a slight better-than-normal feature-set for this price range/class (sub-$100) of microwave. What impresses me is the extra wattage, and that I like the idea of having a handle. Many times people complain that they get units with those big buttons that you have to press to open the door, but don't work well. Our GE could be like that sometimes - the button would stick.
It does bug me a little that there isn't more information about this unit on the web, but maybe that is because it is new-ish? Time will tell. Oster has usually been good for us - reliable and straight-forward appliances at a reasonable price. |

| Overall the microwave looks great and has worked perfectly so far. I think that some of the buttons are arranged a bit counter-intuitively, but maybe I was just really used to my old microwave. |

| Purchased as a gift. First one came with glass door broken in many pieces. Returned, and like everything else and every other time Amazon makes it easy to replace. The family I gave it to loves it and very happy with the products features and performance. |
